Podcast! Lung and Allergy Support Herb Garden

July 11, 2019 Maria Noel Groves

Earlier this year, I was overjoyed to be invited to speak for the Free Herbalism Project run by Mountain Rose Herbs in Eugene, Oregon. Oregon is such a beautiful state, and in spring it was brimming with bright green leaves and vibrant flowers while spring had barely arrived here in New Hampshire. Not one to sit idly by, I took advantage of my visit to one of the great hubs of herbalism in this country by connecting with various other herbalists to share our love of plants. This included an impromptu HerbRally podcast with Missy Rohs (since my plane got delayed by a day, why not?) and a visit to the Practical Herbalist Real Herbalism Radio studio to record some shows with Candace Hunter, Sue Sierralupe, and Patrick Hunter.

The first (of two) Real Herbalism Radio podcast has just aired, and in it we delve into the Lung Tonic, Sinus, and Allergy gardens in my new book Grow Your Own Herbal Medicine. With dish it out, talking about favorite wild and cultivated lung tonics including mullein, marshmallow, wild cherry bark, and horehound. We share solutions for dealing with allergies and respiratory infections, as well as the lung irritation that results from forest fires (unfortunately very common in the Pacific Northwest in summertime).
